The Makanak assists people and families, particularly homeless veterans, with food, health and shelter security, people going through life transitions, and people who are experiencing housing crises, by offering them the resources and case management needed to help them deal with the roots of their causes of problems.
Our programs first identify the issues, and then assists the individual or family by providing them with food, water, and shelter – while implementing the supporting programs and creating opportunities for them to gain self-sufficiency and regain self-esteem. The Makanak provides a multi-pronged approach, first focusing on healing, and then on revitalizing homeless individuals so they can become self- sufficiency. By changing the imbalance and trajectory of the person’s life, such efforts insures their future prosperity.
