The Makanak Band provides mental, emotional, and financial support to survivors of Colonial, Domestic and Wartime violence and  abuse.  In these days, millions of women, children and men are increasingly coming to recognize experiences and effects of violence; for these reasons, the Makanak will stand for those who don’t believe they have any other options or who are unable to stand for themselves. The victims of violence and abuse will receive psychological, emotional, and financial support from the Makanak’s network of resources. By offering a full spectrum of services including housing and legal aide to people who demonstrate need, the Makanak serves as a resource for those who are healing from violent trauma. Our goal is to support survivors and increase their inner strength. We offer a welcoming environment where community members, visitors and guests may obtain health services in a safe space concentrating on comprehensive treatment achieving positive outcomes. In order to reduce stresses and triggers that are barriers to healthy development and quality of life, it is crucial to strengthen the stability of these people and their families.
